Mikulov is one of the leading wine centres in Moravia.
The surroundings of the town is full of vineyards, grapes and vine cellars. The local chateau houses a wine-making museum, which includes the unusual huge Giant Barrel from 1643, which could hold 1010 hectolitres of wine.
The fine architectural heritage of the Mikulov consists of chateau complex, buildings of the former Jewish Quarter, well-known Dietrichstejn Tomb and historical square. Also Holy Little Hill (Svaty Kopecek) with pilgrim chapel, which stands nearby the town, offers magnificent views of the Mikulov.
Mikulov is a favourite place by the Polish travellers on their way to/from South Europre. They call Mikulov like Mikulow, Mikulov Czechy and stay here for a night.
