Telc is a small town which appeared approximately in the middle of the 13th century at an intersection of two country`s routes. Although its founding data is unknown, but the oldest reliable information about Telc is dated back to the period 1333-1335.
The historical square (namesti Zachariase z Hradce) - central square, see photo on the left - rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful in the republic, has a triangular square hemmed by burgher houses with Renaissance gables and arcades. Together with the chateau the historic centre has been included on the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.
