Terezin is a former garrison town originally built by Emperor Joseph II. as an ingenious system of the military fortresses for the protection of the kingdom at the end of the 18th century that was completely changed and converted into the Jewish Ghetto and concentration camp during the World War II.
The camp served as a collection place for Jews from all over Europe. Fortress was also a cruel prison of the Reich's secret police - the Gestapo. Come with us and learn more about history of World War II and Holocaust.

Although the site mail a sad episode in the history, I think that everybody must go there.
The guids was very nice and had knowledg about the history of Cesky Republic.

| Marc from Belgium: Very cleaned up, it seems to me that Czech people do not like this horrible place/events took place in their country, which is understandable, but still, history can't be changed.
We went on a Saturday...means, no crematorium visits due to the Sabbat, we were not aware of this. |
