Town of various free time activities.
Trutnov is located in a valley of a mountain river called Upa and on the surrounding hillsides. It offers not only historical sights but it is a base for various free time activities, too.
You can take a scenic theme trail on the historical battlefield, where the famous battle of Trutnov roared in 1866, browse the expositions of the Museum of Podkrkonosi and the town gallery, or take your rest by the fountain in the town park or in the charming square named after a mountain giant Krakonosovo namesti. In the summer you can take a dip in a modern water park or enjoy mellow atmosphere of a nearby campground Dolce. A winter visitor will certainly appreciate cross-country skiing opportunities and the closeness of the downhill slopes of the Krkonose Mountains.
